I have managed a quick finish Here's Bloom Sampler by Threadwork Primitives.
I've progressed a little more on Christmas Garden. I'm trying to focus on it solely until it's finished. For someone who used to be a devoted one-at-a-time stitcher, it has become hard for me to just stitch on one thing until completion in recent years.
This past week has been spring break. We would normally travel at this time of the year, but we decided to stay home this week and get some stuff done around the house. The living room and hallway got a much needed coat of paint, and the carpets got a much needed cleaning. I'm sad to see my break end, but I only have a few short weeks until summer break. We only missed two days this year, and we've already made up both of those, so we are scheduled to get out of school on May 16 with the teachers' last day being May 17. We will have almost three full months off this summer. I'm ecstatic!!! I have a lot of things I want to accomplish around my house, some places to go, and my mom is going to teach me a little basic sewing. I'm looking so forward to all of it. I will have to work some too, but a lot of it is computer based that I can do from my home.
That's it for now. Getting ready to settle in with Christmas Garden and enjoy some stitching in front of the TV this evening.
Have a happy stitchy week!
Kellie
Kellie, I used to be a one project at a time girl too! but now I've got SAL's and ornaments, and seasonal stuff, and usually a focus piece on the go too. I would love to get back to a one at a time schedule but I am like you, I get swayed by the stitching of others....like this Christas Garden that you're working on and I have in my stash! So there is my dilemma!
ReplyDeleteNice little finish and Christmas Garden looks great! I hear you on all the temptations out there. Isn't it hard to keep your blinders on and just keep plugging away with what you're stitching? lol!
ReplyDeleteWow! You are going to have a great summer break! Nice and long. Love all that you are stitching. I,too, have trouble sticking with one thing and not buying everything that I love. It is a blessing and a curse, but the whole thing just makes me happy!
ReplyDeleteGreat finish. I still do one piece at a time. I find if I put it down it never really gets picked up again.
ReplyDeleteOoohhhh.....the dilemma! It is so hard isn't it? Your stitches look great. Your summer plans sound good too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the public compliments on Mary Gibson, Kellie! I love your Bloom piece and Christmas Garden is one that is calling me quite loudly, as well. Your stitching is just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great summer - teachers really deserve a good break!
Such pretty projects.
ReplyDeleteYes, many things in my stash scream to be stitched, and I want to stitch them all RIGHT NOW! If only retirement were closer.
Yes, I know how everything calls to you - both what is in your stash - and new things. Terri's sampler did come out wonderful and now I want to do it too! Sometimes blogs are too enabling, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteNice progress on your two pieces!!
Mmm, yes, yes and yes! To your questions!! Like your bloom is something I want to stitch! I love Nan's designs!! Christmas Garden is another one too!! Oi!!
ReplyDeleteSuch an adorable finish, Kellie :) And I love your newest start, too!
ReplyDeleteYou're so lucky to have three whole months off coming up--looking forward to seeing what creative things spring from your needle!
I've never been a one project at a time girl, so welcome to the dark side! I envy your vacation (much deserved--my dad was a teacher and was always limping by this time of year, counting down with the kids).
ReplyDeleteNeedlework incredibly slower than purchasing ; )
ReplyDeleteall the joys, L.
